THURSDAY, APRIL 11, 2019

1. If your carpets are looking dull, you can brighten them with one simple ingredient from your kitchen. Salt! For brighter carpets, sprinkle salt evenly over your carpets and leave for 10 minutes. Vacuum over the area repeatedly until carpets are salt-free.  Salt is also a natural flea killer, for best result use fine salt, rake into carpets and leave it for 12 – 48 hours depending on the level of heat and humidity. Leave for less time in more humid weather.

*Salt absorbs moisture from its surroundings, avoid putting salt on damp carpets and don’t leave Salt in carpets for too long on days that have high humidity.

2. You can make your own carpet deodorizer using 2 simple ingredients. Mix one cup of baking soda with 18 to 20 drops of your favorite essential oil and leave over night to let the baking soda absorbs the oil. We like using lemongrass to deter insects and it leaves your carpets smelling fresh. Sprinkle your baking soda onto your carpets and let sit for at least 10 minutes. You can leave up to 24 hours if your carpets are especially pungent. Vacuum the baking soda up thoroughly, it may take a couple of passes with the vacuum cleaner.
